October Wine Box
Six special bottles from six different countries to welcome autumn — an exciting premium selection with an even bigger saving this month.
For October, we’ve chosen wines we’d love to open over a long dinner or on a cooler evening. Hungary, Czechia, Germany, Greece, Austria and France — six distinct origins and six individual characters in one box. Orange wines take a little more of the spotlight this month, bringing rich textures, spice and depth. Alongside them are a long-aged pét-nat from Hungary’s Mátra region, Gut Oggau’s characterful rosé and an Alpine red from Corentin Houillon.
Levente – Nihil VIII. Neglect 2021
A Welschriesling pét-nat from Mátra, aged on its lees for forty months. Gentle bubbles meet baked apple, citrus peel and nutty notes. Complex yet fresh, it makes a lovely opening to the selection. Serve well chilled and open gently, as the wine may foam up and overflow.
Milan Nestarec – UMAMI 2021
Moravian Traminer with a short period of skin contact followed by two years in oak. Rose-petal aromas, exotic spice and ripe apple meet a full, savoury palate. Aromatic and layered, with a long finish.
Staffelter Hof – Madcap Magnus 2019
A deep, layered orange wine from old Riesling vines in the Mosel. Dried citrus, orange peel, tea and subtle oxidative notes, with bright acidity and stony minerality balancing its richness.
Ktima Ligas – Amphora Gaia 2019
Greek Kydonitsa with a month of skin contact in amphora. Quince, wild herbs and delicate spice come together with gentle tannins and saline depth. A textured, distinctive orange wine that unfolds beautifully in the glass.
Gut Oggau – Winifred 2024
A deeper-coloured, full and juicy Burgenland rosé made from Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt. Wild strawberry, sour cherry and delicate spice, with bright acidity and a lightly saline edge. It reveals a richer, more expressive side of rosé while keeping its freshness and energy.
Corentin Houillon – Cosmos 2022
Mondeuse from Savoie, aged for two years in used oak. Dark cherry, woodland berries, black pepper and mountain herbs, with fine tannins and a long mineral finish. Structured, yet full of Alpine freshness.
Discover the different faces of natural wine across six countries — from gentle bubbles through the depth of orange wines to an expressive Alpine red.
