A.E.I.O.U. 2025

A.E.I.O.U. is one of Christian Tschida’s most profound wines: 100% Chardonnay from a single schist vineyard and a single barrel. The 60-year-old vines grow in a distinctive double-plant system, where twin Chardonnay vines are planted closely side by side, creating intense competition for water and nutrients.

This competition encourages the vines to root deeper into the soil, while the combined yield of the two plants is comparable to that of just one conventionally planted vine. The result is smaller, looser bunches with concentrated aromas and naturally balanced acidity. The grapes are harvested by hand, pressed extremely gently without maceration, then fermented and aged in a large oak barrel.

Concentrated and profound yet taut and precise, this is a Chardonnay where texture, minerality and the character of the vineyard take precedence over primary fruit. Intense yet elegant, with remarkable purity and a long, focused finish. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, with no added sulphur.
