Graf Morillon 2022 Magnum
A deeply layered and elegant Chardonnay from biodynamically farmed, old vines in Southern Styria.
The Opok soil typical of the region—a mix of limestone, clay, and marl—imparts a mineral tension, calm depth, and exceptional precision to the wine. After a short maceration, the grapes are spontaneously fermented in neutral oak barrels, then aged for a long time on fine lees, giving it a delicate texture and a slightly saline complexity without losing its freshness. Citrus peel, stone fruit, brioche, herbaceous, and wet stone notes unfold with crystal-clear acidity and a long, saline finish.
The wine retains a few grams of residual sugar, which adds extra softness and a delicate roundness, while the character remains beautifully balanced and energetic.
Bottled unfiltered, unfined, and with no added sulfur.
