Opok 2022

A fresh yet deeply terroir-focused white blend from biodynamically cultivated South Styrian vineyards, from the region's characteristic Opok soil – a mix of limestone, clay, and marl.

Sauvignon Blanc, Welschriesling, Gelber Muskateller, and Morillon together provide a vibrant yet layered character, where alpine freshness meets soft texture and mineral depth. The hand-harvested grapes are gently pressed, then spontaneously fermented in large oval wooden barrels, followed by approximately twenty months of aging on fine lees in neutral oak barrels. Notes of lime, grapefruit, elderflower, green apple, and wet stone unfold with lively acidity and a long, saline finish. Despite its complexity, the wine remains surprisingly lively and highly drinkable.

Bottled unfiltered, unfined, and with no added sulfur.
