Pinot Noir 2023

Gittinger Pinot Noir comes from a half-hectare organic vineyard planted in 2001 on the southeast-facing slopes of Szent György-hegy. Volcanic basanite bedrock, ancient sandy sediments and brown forest soils create a distinctive growing environment. The 2023 vintage was particularly challenging, with heavy rainfall and unexpected hail, but healthy grapes were successfully harvested in early September.

After destemming, the grapes spent nine days of maceration in 750-litre Tava amphorae before the wine was transferred by gravity into smaller amphorae. Bottled without fining, filtration or added sulphites, with only 1,223 bottles produced. Vibrant fruit, elegant tannins and a light yet expressive structure define this distinctive vintage.
