Silicium 2023
A deeply textured and intense skin-contact blend from biodynamically cultivated South Styrian vineyards.
Chardonnay (Morillon) and Riesling grow on the steep, silicon-rich primary rock soils of the Sausal hills, which impart a special mineral tension and earthy depth to the wine. It remains on the skins for approximately two weeks, until the end of fermentation, then ages for a year in old oak barrels with regular bâtonnage, gaining a layered texture and subtle oxidative complexity while retaining its freshness and precision. Notes of dried citrus peel, clove, anise, slightly burnt caramel, herbs, and wet stone unfold with vibrant acidity and fine tannins.
Bottled unfiltered, unfined, and with no added sulfites.
