Earth 2021
Orange wine with deep and particularly textured skin contact from biodynamically cultivated South Styrian vineyards.
Sauvignon Blanc and Morillon (Chardonnay) grow on the region's characteristic Opok soil — a mixture of limestone, clay, and silt — which gives the wine immense mineral depth and earthy tension. Half of the grapes are destemmed, followed by an exceptionally long skin contact period of up to twelve months. This is followed by nearly two years of aging in large oval oak barrels. The result is a powerful yet surprisingly lively orange wine, where dried citrus, bergamot tea, herbaceous, smoky, and earthy mineral notes unfold with structured tannins and vibrant acidity. Despite its intensity, the wine remains balanced, energetic, and endlessly layered.
Bottled unfiltered, unfined, and with no added sulfur.
