Graf Morillon 2022
A deeply layered and elegant Chardonnay from biodynamically cultivated, old vines in Southern Styria.
The Opok soil typical of the region — a mixture of limestone, clay, and marl — gives the wine mineral tension, calm depth, and exceptional precision. After a short skin contact, the grapes are spontaneously fermented in neutral oak barrels, then aged on fine lees for a long time, gaining a delicate texture and a subtle saline complexity without losing its freshness. Notes of citrus peel, stone fruit, brioche, herbs, and wet stone unfold with crystal clear acidity and a long, salty finish.
A few grams of residual sugar remain in the wine, adding extra softness and a delicate roundness, while the character remains beautifully balanced and energetic.
Bottled unfiltered, unfined, and without added sulfur.
