JIL 2021
A deep, structured and quietly unfolding Blaufränkisch from Milan Nestarec, grown in organically farmed vineyards in Moravia.
Four weeks of maceration bring a more serious structure, fine tannins and salty-spicy depth, before the wine spends three years in a large used Stockinger barrel. Aging shapes a calm, integrated character, while the bright acidity and inner energy of Blaufränkisch remain beautifully intact. Black cherry, forest berries, dried herbs, black tea, earthy spice and stony minerality unfold into a long, taut finish.
JIL belongs among Nestarec’s more serious reds: not heavy, but deep, balanced and slow-opening, becoming increasingly elegant with air.
Made only from free-run juice, bottled unfiltered, unfined and with only 2 mg/l of added sulphur.
